Our Work
Ummah Care Foundation has responded to high impact emergency relief and created long-term initiatives and centres for refugees for over 10 years. We’ve provided support and worked in dozens of countries around the world, and we hope to give a helping hand to even more communities over the next decade.
Since Feraz Younas founded the charity in 2014, we’ve launched hundreds of projects with the common goal of helping humanity. With years of experience responding to emergency relief and global conflict, Feraz has learnt invaluable lessons and come up with an approach that we believe best serves and supports communities in crises.
This approach is informed by his experience, government data, our own risk management strategy and knowledge and relationships with locals on the ground.
Emergency relief
With emergency relief, we divide this approach into three phases. The aim of the first phase is to provide the most urgent items to people in need, and especially those in harder to reach areas, who can sometimes be left without any resources. This typically includes providing warm meals, blankets and access to doctors and medicine; strategically giving people items they need the most to survive.
As Ummah Care Foundation has been on the ground for years in several countries, we are fortunate to have built great relationships with doctors and medical teams in several countries. When responding to critical situations, we work together with these medical teams to provide emergency care and often fund field hospitals when necessary.
Feraz and our team are also very experienced in navigating difficult roads, after conflict or natural disasters to reach people in remote and harder to reach areas.
Once we have addressed the most critical needs of the affected civilians, we move into phase two. This stage involves donating personal hygiene kits, dry foods and other items to people who have been moved into shelters or refugee camps.
The final phase moves us into a longer-term strategy, which is designed to give dignity to people and give them the power and tools to rehabilitate and rebuild the life they once had. The first step is to fund and build toilets and washrooms facilities in either refugee camps or temporary accommodation. We strongly believe giving people who have been through trauma and/or conflict, the basic right to have access to clean water and hygiene, gives people dignity and hope to move forward.
We then transition our focus and use the money raised from our kind donors, to provide longer term accommodation or rebuild homes. Once this phase has been completed, and we have helped to rehouse as many people as we can, we commit to staying or visiting the area for as long as possible.
Over our many years in the humanitarian field, we have noticed a profound difference when charities like us, commit to staying and supporting a community over a long-term period, even years if necessary. When truly believe that when people feel cared for and have clean water, warm meals and a safe place to call home, it empowers them to start to rebuild their life story.
UCF LONG-TERM PROJECTS
Our Educational and Community Centres
We believe all people have the right to fundamental human rights, and within that all children deserve access to a high-quality education in a safe environment. We are proud to currently have two successful health, education and community centres, one in Pakistan, and another in Turkey.
Türkiye
Over eleven years of war in Syria has prevented children from receiving this fundamental right. A generation of children have lost access to schooling, their right to an education and their childhood. Currently over 6.1 million children are in need of assistance, care and a school education.
After learning this data, visiting the area, and knowing that these children’s complex needs were not being met, we knew there was an urgent need to provide resources for these families. We quickly decided to fundraise and find a way to help. In August 2022, we founded this UCF centre, which initially only offered physiotherapy.
Our team has worked diligently over the last two years to develop our centre and the programmes we deliver. We’re proud to now offer children: daily physiotherapy, as well as a range of educational lessons, creative activities and fun outings for the wonderful Syrian children who live nearby. However, all children are welcome at our centre, no matter where they’re from.
Pakistan
Our Educational Centre in Pakistan offers orphaned and vulnerable children access to a safe space, high-quality education and warm meals each day. We’re very proud of how successful the centre has become, how it has enabled these children to learn and given them an opportunity to have a better future.

Some of Our Past and Present Projects
UCF Emergency Relief
Gaza, Palestine, 2014
We have provided long and short-term relief and responded to various humanitarian needs in Gaza for over 8 years. Our founder and team have visited the city many times and sent medical supplies including medication, medical equipment, food and winter aid. Since the most recent conflict in 2023, we have worked tirelessly to send as much aid through the borders as we possibly can. Over the last year we have provided thousands of warm meals to Gazans in need.
Lebanon, 2014
UCF began first began working in Lebanon in 2014 and we are currently providing support for displaced people. In 2014 we funded three orphanages for Syrian refugees, who had fled their home country due to the crisis. We have since continued to support immediate emergency relief work after explosion the explosion in 2020. holiday celebrations for children, summer school – for children who were currently living in refugee camps. Winter coat project for refugees / providing relief during harsh winters
Syria, 2014 – 2018
Since the Syrian crisis began, we have worked in collaboration with the Turkish Government to support the rebuilding of schools. To date, we have re-built 7 schools in Syria.
Lesbos, Greece, 2015
UCF has followed the refugee trail from Calais to Greece, to Lebanon. We have sent and delivered much needed aid, including winter packs and clothing (in collaboration with a local Primary School), warm meals in Austria, Croatia, Greece and Lebanon, and good quality shoes and baby food in Slovenia. We began this project in 2015 and have continued to support where we can.
Support during Coronavirus (within the UK)
We focused on raising funds for and volunteering to help in the West Midlands, helping NHS staff, caring for the elderly and donating to food banks (non-contact deliveries for vulnerable and lonely people).
Morocco, 2023
When the earthquake that hit Morocco last year, our team promptly made our way to be on the ground helping innocent civilians with emergency relief items and support.
Bangladesh, 2018
We raised funds for several food distribution projects to help and feed Rohingya Burmese refugees in Bangladesh.
Earthquake in Türkiye , 2022
We were devastated when we woke up to the news of the horrific earthquake that shook Turkey two years ago. The damage was frightening, with thousands sadly trapped, injured and displaced. The earthquake sadly also hit the area that we have our physiotherapy and educational centre. Our team rushed there as soon as we could, to begin our three-part plan to help as many people as we could. We were able to reach 212,000 beneficiaries: giving hot meals, hygiene kits, funding temporary housing and rebuilding homes.
Morocco, 2024
This past summer we were thrilled to run a summer school in Amizmiz, Morocco. The summer programme was a huge success and a safe space for the wonderful children to get creative, while having fun over the summer season.
Lesbos, Greece, 2018 – 2020
We launch a project for all refugees: Children’s play Centre & Medical Camps in 2018.
Pakistan, 2022
We have launched several projects within Pakistan, since UCF was founded. However, when the catastrophic floods happened in 2022, we knew people in the area needed more help than ever, and a rapid response from us. People were in urgent need of tents, access to clean water, food and doctors for medical treatment. We immediately set up a variety of medical camps across the worst affected regions in Pakistan, treating around 32,000 patients, while distributing 10,000 hot meals. We also worked closely with the army to ensure smooth running of our camps and supplies – due to the high volume of people who needed care and assistance.
We’re always grateful to have volunteers join us!
